Boy (10) survives accident

ER24 said the boy was lying in the middle of the road when they arrived on the scene.

A 10-YEAR-OLD boy survived after being struck by a car in Diagonal Street, La Rochelle, south of Johannesburg on Friday.

The accident happened at 3.45pm, according to ER24 spokesperson Ineke van Huyssteen.

She said the boy was lying in the middle of the road when they arrived. “Upon further assessment, it was found that the boy sustained moderate injuries and he was transported to South Rand Hospital for further medical care.”

Van Huyssteen said exact details of what could have caused the accident would be left to the local authorities for comment, as they were on the scene after the accident.

She said the authorities were investigating.

South Rand Hospital was contacted and the COURIER was awaiting a reply from the hospital’s spokesman.
