WATCH: Factory caught producing fake bottled water

An estimated R10-milion worth of fake bottled water was uncovered in Johannesburg.

Investigations surrounding a factory found to be producing fake bottled water continue.

The factory was raided in November last year.

According to a video, the water was being bottled in a factory in Crown mines.

The factory produced the bottles and filled them with water from a fire hydrant.

Police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo said, “No arrests have been made and investigations are still ongoing.”

An estimated R10-milion worth of fake bottled water was uncovered.

Masondo said the culprits were believed to be foreign nationals who had fled the scene when the police arrived.

Manufacturers of authentic bottled water have advised the public to always purchase water from reliable sources.
