Hartford learner shines in Bangkok

No holidays for Grade Two genius.

GRADE Two learner, Tshegofatso Makansela, from Hartford College was selected to compete with the South African team in the International Abacus Olympiad, in Bangkok on October 1.

WELL DONE: Tshegofatso Makansela with her trophy.

The little genius spent her holiday in Thailand and was awarded the champions trophy after competing against over 500 other learners from all across the globe. Those chosen to represent South Africa outshone themselves and made their country, peers, parents and educators proud at the World Numeracy Championships.

Hartford school principal, Nicola Forbes, and Tshegofatso’s Abacus maths teacher, Palesa Kgoadi expressed pride in Tshegofatso saying that all the educators and learners are very proud of her achievement.
