Capturing breathtaking moments

The Southern Suburbs Camera Club continues to capture excellence.

THE Southern Suburbs Camera Club recently became the number one camera club in the Southern Gauteng Region, thanks to the winning image by Clifford Els called The Protector.

The club was announced as the top club on September 2 at the regional congress held in Meyerton.

According to the chairperson of the club, Karen Kolozsvari, each year eight camera clubs in the South compete in the regional competition to find out who takes the best photographs.

“Early in the competition we secured first and third place in the mini-series section and topped off the proceedings when the three highly qualified PSSA (Photographic Society of South Africa) judges scored ‘The Protector’ by Clifford Els as the best senior image,” said Karen.

A total of 570 photographs were submitted from eight clubs over 12 months and were viewed and scored accordingly. The Southern Suburbs Camera Club had the highest overall score and thus taking home the trophy.
