New set of wheels for St Mary’s

“I cannot tell you what this means. From the bottom of my heart, there are no words, so thank you very, very much!” said Sonja Harmse, director of St. Mary’s.

ST Mary’s Children’s Home, in Rosettenville, was delighted to get a brand-new set of wheels to assist them with ferrying the children around.

Toms Shoes USA, in partnership with Sešego Cares and Mark White Datsun, recently assisted with the purchase of a much-needed seven-seater Datsun Go+. Oakhurst Insurance came on board as a sponsor and has ensured that insurance is taken care of for a year. This vehicle will ensure the children are safely transported to and from various appointments, such as to clinics, after-school activities and doctor’s appointments.

EXCITEMENT ABOUNDS: Off they go, ready for a quick spin.

At a handover on Tuesday, September 5, a very surprised Sonja Harmse, director at St Mary’s, took ownership of the vehicle on behalf of the children’s home. Sonja was not aware of the donation, so her reaction was one of shock and sheer delight when she saw the beautifully branded Datsun Go+ parked on the premises.

“I cannot tell you what this means. From the bottom of my heart, there are no words, so thank you very, very much!” said Harmse.

“Oakhurst Insurance is proud to be associated with St Mary’s Children’s Home and we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for their amazing commitment to changing the lives of so many children. With our mantra of ‘we really care, we deliver’, we look forward to assisting St Mary’s, by ensuring that the vehicle insurance is taken care of, and provide peace of mind to such a wonderful organisation,” said Jacqueline Ellerbeck.
