Heron Academy celebrates Food Day

Heron takes parents on a trip around the world at its Food Day fund-raiser.

HERON Academy sprung into the new season by hosting a Food Day for the public, family and friends of the pupils from Heron.

MAKING MUSIC: There was a live band at the Food Day.

Heron Academy is a remedial ADHD Tutor centre that caters for learners from grade eight to matric and is located on 56 The Broads in Mulbarton. The academy held this Food Day as a fund-raiser which turned out to be a success with over 400 hundred tickets sold.

ITALY: Sandile Zwane and Marco Hart at their Italian stand serving pizza and lasagna among other treats.

Learners were grouped together and had to choose to represent a country. They had to dress up according to their countries and make various dishes their country is famous for.

GREECE: Greece had lovely snacks and traditional food.

Tickets were sold to parents, families and friends for only R120 and this entitled them to a buffet of various dishes. Guests were entertained by a live band and other entertainment. Groups outdid themselves to ensure that their country was the best but all displayed great pride, etiquette and hospitality.

TREATS: Australia’s representatives prepared some of the best treats.

INDIA: Lesego Masethla, Nadiyah Pando and Kadejia Smith at their Indian stand.

RELAXING: People enjoyed the vibe at the Food Day. It was a lovely time to relax and catch up with others.

ENGLAND: Front: Bianca Nel, Nirvana Mkhwanazi and Bhavishkar Rampersad. Back: Oscar Modipa and Daniel Herbst.

SWEET: Alesandra Charalambus and Prana Govender from Hawaii delivered the best customer service.

JAMAICA: It was a party at the Jamaican stand.

LOVELY: It was a beautiful day out in the sunshine with family and friends.
