Moffat View SAPS’ successfully arrests over 30 suspects

Moffat View SAPS arrested 32 suspects for various crimes

DURING the week of July 17 to 24, Moffat View SAPS arrested 32 suspects for various crimes: armed robbery – one, assault common – four, assault grievous bodily harm – three, drunken driving – two, common robbery – three, contempt of court – one, fraud – two, malicious damage to property – one, murder – one, negligent handling of fire-arm – one, possession of dagga – seven, possession of stolen motor vehicle – three, use of motor vehicle without owner’s consent – one, violation of protection order – one and theft – one.

Two arrested for house robbery

On July 20 at about 10am Warrant Officer Chonko Biyela and Serg Mukwevho were patrolling when they received a complaint from the charge office about the house robbery in progress in Cartwright Street, Elandspark. The members proceeded to the scene. Upon arrival they found South End security officer Jeffrey Maluleke, who mentioned to the members that he arrested two black males in possession of suspected stolen goods.

The two suspects were taken to Moffatview SAPS. The suspects mentioned that they are from Thokoza.

One arrested for murder and attempted murder

On July 7, a 30 year-old woman who resides in Rosettenville, poisoned her children aged four and six. She also poisoned herself. The four-year-old child died immediately. The other one was admitted to the hospital and is in critical condition. The woman was also admitted to the hospital.

A case of murder and attempted murder was opened at Moffatview SAPS. The woman was arrested and bail was denied. She is detained at Johannesburg Correctional Services (Sun City Prison).
