Dream comes true for leukemia sufferer (8)

Thanks to Rooksana Modan and Heinrich Saul, Will-Micke’s dream came true.

AN eight-year-old girl, Will-Micke Riffel, from Paarl, in the Western Cape, was enthralled by the many aeroplanes which would regularly fly over the hospital where she was receiving treatment for leukemia.

She told her mother, Will-Niece, that one day she wants to fly in an aeroplane.

Then, a guardian angel, Johannesburg-based entrepreneur, Rooksana Modan, visited the community to assist her mentee, Heinrich Saul, with a project at Riviersonderd Primary School, and this is when the two decided to make little Will-Micke’s dream come true.

Modan, an empowerment speaker, mentor, coach and business strategist, arranged a fantastic, dream experience for the little girl last weekend, May 27 and 28, which saw Will-Micke, dressed in a blue princess outfit, board an aeroplane for the first time.

She could hardly contain her excitement and had constant butterflies as the Comair plane took off from Cape Town International to OR Tambo International. Comair sponsored the flight.

Will-Micke also met 7de Laan celebrity Ingrid Paulus, with whom she had lunch at Barneys, in Gold Reef City. Barneys welcomed her with their amazing service, she was chauffeured by Tau Security, pampered by Zaheera Style and Image Stylists, accommodated by Glenvista Executive Guesthouse, granted full access to the theme park and enjoyed meals and two nights accommodation at Gold Reef City.

A cake was made for her by the Cake Brothers and presented in the animation movie Frozen theme, Joshila Attorneys provided her with a tablet, Spur provided meals on arrival and departure at the airports, Sage Consulting sponsored a R2 000 gift voucher and Sue Moodley, a Mrs Commonwealth finalist, provided Will-Micke with clothing.

The young aviation enthusiast also got to watch the Golden Lions versus the Blue Bulls rugby match at Emirates Airline Park, in Johannesburg.

“The reason for all of this is that when Will-Micke was in hospital she loved watching aeroplanes flying over all day and dreamed of one day also flying. This little girl was only three years old when doctors informed her mother that she has acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and she is still undergoing chemotherapy,” Modan explained.
