Help Hoërskool President High open up its library

Libraries are essential in the process of giving learners access to knowledge. In digital times they are needed more than ever before.

UAFHULUFHEDZEA Netsianda is a Grade 11 learner at Hoërskool President High who is looking for donations to open up a library at the school.

Uafhulufhedzea is also a member of the City of Johannesburg Student Council and, as such, is required to start a project in her community and her school. Following the need for a library and books in the school, she decided that it was only appropriate to try to get a school library going.

She is working hand in hand with her school to collect as many books as possible in order to open up a library.

“Depending on the number of books that we collect, a space will be allocated for it and for now it will be kept in a classroom,” said educator Marqia van der Walt.

The school is asking for residents and companies alike to rally around this initiative and bring in books to the school, if possible. If there is a large volume of books you would like to donate, then contact the school on 011 680 2531 / 2 so the necessary arrangements can be made to get the books to the school.

You are welcome to bring in books to the school between 8am and 3pm. The school is situated in Rifle Range Road, Ridgeway.
