BREAKING NEWS: Three-year-old burns to death in Turffontein

It's alleged the fire was caused by an illegal electricity connection.

A three-year-old toddler has burned to death after a fire began in Alexander Road, Turffontein late this afternoon.
According to Clr Rashida Landis, she was in a caucus meeting in Johannesburg, when she began receiving calls about the fire.

It’s alleged the fire was caused by an illegal electricity connection. According to Landis, the father of the child went to have a shower and locked his little boy in a room to keep him safe while he showered. The fire began and before the father could rescue his child, the little boy was burnt to death. “He was found in a wardrobe in the room,” said a distraught Landis.

According to her the house has been separated into rooms and the owner has allegedly illegally connected electricity to the house.

An investigation is taking place.
