There will be other stakeholders like Discover Life Youth Empowerment and Believers Care Society to facilitate skills programme and entrepreneurial classes for the youth.

THE City of Johannesburg and the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation will host an Easter school holiday programme at Rotunda Park Recreation Centre, Turffontein, from April 3 to 7, from 09:00 to 15:00 daily.

There will be other stakeholders, such as Discover Life Youth Empowerment and Believers Care Society, involved to facilitate skills programmes and entrepreneurial classes for the youth.

The aim of this holiday programme is to keep the community active during the school holidays.

Youngsters will be inspired to participate in sports and engage in arts and culture. There will also be a skills intervention aspect to the programme. Participants will also be reminded of health issues in the community.

The programme aims to ensure the safety of the youth during the holidays in a secure environment.

Social issues and challenges that the community faces on a daily basis will be addressed.

Many activities will be offered during the week-long programme, including soccer, netball, aerobics, basketball, boxing, arts, dancing, singing, poetry and gumboot dancing as well as a variety of other games.
