WATCH: MEC leads march against women and children abuse after taxi rape

The marchers also include representatives from various Gauteng Taxi Associations and members of Law Enforcement Agencies.

Hundreds of men and women have gathered to march in solidarity against the abuse of women and children following the  recent spate of taxi rapes and robberies.

The marchers also include representatives from various Gauteng Taxi Associations and members of Law Enforcement Agencies.

The Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane, lead a march today, March 30, to raise awareness  on the impact of gender based violence in society and to mobilise men to be protectors of women.

The march started from Naturena and proceeded to the Southgate Taxi Rank where the MEC interacted with taxi drivers, commuters. The pledge was also signed opposite the Booysens boxing club.

The crowd also marched to the Booysens and Mondeor police stations.
