UCPA gets kind donations

“These donations will go a long way in assisting our youngsters and adults in our care. Thank you so much for your generosity,” Van den Berg said.

UNITED Cerebral Palsy Association (UCPA) received donations from Lucy Peter (Mrs Commonwealth SA 2017), Stacey Tobin (owner designer of Miss Boss Couture), Brittany Krull (designer) and Danica Paulsen (Face of Miss Boss Couture) last week.

Director of UCPA, Marie van den Berg, said she was thrilled with the donations, which included a new wheelchair, 200kg rice, toiletries, blankets, shoes, toys, adult diapers, toilet paper and stationery.

“These donations will go a long way in assisting our youngsters and adults in our care. Thank you so much for your generosity,” Van den Berg said.

Lucy entered the Mrs Commonwealth South Africa 2017 competition and managed to raise R92 000 for Cansa, her charity of choice.

“My grandmother died from cancer and I’m at high risk due to hereditary problems, so this seemed the perfect cause,” said Lucy.

“It’s all about creating awareness and during my reign I want to do just that. UCPA is also very dear to me and the donations we raised have really gone to a good cause,” she added.
