Park your car inside the yard

There has also been an increase in hijacking of motor vehicles where the complainant parks his or her car to run into a spaza to buy small items.

THE management of Booysens SAPS would like to again warn the community not to park their cars on the pavements outside their homes.

On numerous occasions the management has warned the community against sitting in cars parked on the pavement or in driveways to chat with each other. This invites hijacking and theft of motor vehicle.

There has another increase in robberies taking place due to such actions.

Do not sit in your car. Rather go into the premises and chat over a cup of tea instead of sitting in your car.

These types of robberies are taking place late at night, and it is normally two to three males who approach your vehicle, instruct you to get out and then flee with your vehicle.

There has also been an increase in hijacking of motor vehicles where the complainant parks his or her car to run into a spaza to buy small items. The complainants often leave their car idling when doing this. Ensure that you have switched off the engine and locked the doors when you climb out of your car.
