Still no water at Ormonde Primary

"Water will be delivered at the school this evening (January 17) and tomorrow morning (January 18)."

THE Gauteng Department of Education confirmed yesterday (January 17) to the COURIER that they are working with Joburg Water to reconnect water at Ormonde Primary School, as soon as possible.

Deputy chair of the Ormonde Primary School Governing Body (SGB), Yap Salomon, disputes that however – as there’s no water at the school today (Wednesday, January 18).

Gauteng Department of Education’s acting spokesperson, Oupa Bodibe said: “In the interim, we have made arrangements with our service providers to deliver water at the school, until such time as the reconnection is concluded. Water will therefore be delivered at the school this evening (January 17) and tomorrow morning (January 18).

“The Department would like to extend deepest and sincere apology to learners, parents and the community of Ormonde Primary, for the frustration and inconvenience caused by the shortage of water and lack of electrical connection. We’re doing everything within our power to get learners back to the school, so that learning and teaching can resume with immediate effect.”
