Opportunities for crèches owners

This course is completely free of charge.

BELIEVERS Care Society (BCS) is inviting owners of Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres (crèches) and their staff members, to apply for a skills development opportunity.

It was initiated to assist them in running their crèches professionally. BCS also provided mentorship that will ensure children under the crèches’ care are properly taken care of, especially the orphans and vulnerable children. The project was run in partnership with the United States President’s Emergency Plan for Aids Relief (PEPFAR).

Crèche owners and their staff will receive an accredited skills training course on FETC: Project management, SAQA ID: 50080. The course is for a duration of four months, attending only twice in a week – which is Fridays from 13:00 to 16:00 and Saturdays from 08:00 to 12 noon. The duration of the entire project will be for six months, which also includes the mentorship programme.

A certificate of competence will be issued at the completion of course, to participants who’ve completed and passed the course. Also attainable is a certificate of mentorship participation on the Aids relief programme.

Registration is currently in progress and only 35 participants will be accepted: two people per crèche. Classes will commence on the January 23, at the Development Centre in Turffontein.

This course is completely free of charge. Crèches are encouraged to come forward and take advantage of this rare opportunity, especially those that are non-funded and lack project management skills.

Course content will be as follows: Explain fundamentals of project management; Contribute to project initiation; Scope definition and scope change control; Develop a simple schedule to facilitate effective project execution; Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS in a workplace and its effects on a business sub-sector; plus ‘Own organisation and a specific workplace’.

It’s important to note that Believers Care Society is an accredited provider of the above course, through the Services-Seta.
