Kenilworth High continues to impress

Another 100% pass rate with mostly bachelors passess, fewer diploma passes and no certificate passes.

KENILWORTH High School has, for the second consecutive year, obtained a 100 per cent matric pass mark with 80 per cent bachelor’s pass and a 20 per cent diploma pass.

This school is also the best-performing school in Johannesburg South. To celebrate this achievement, the school principal, Morgan Radebe, hosted a celebration.

Mr Radebe invited councillor Tyrell Meyers, the DA representative for ward 124, as the school falls within this ward. Clr Michael Crichton, who represents ward 56, was also present, as many of the learners attending this school come from his ward. Special guest Manny de Freitas, member of parliament for Johannesburg South, was also invited.

In his address, Clr Meyers congratulated the learners and encouraged them to continue with their hard work in their future endeavours.

When de Freitas addressed learners, teachers and parents present, he explained that research and experience shows that schools that have good principals who demonstrate leadership perform well.

“Kenilworth High has produced these excellent results because there is a great partnership with parents and the school governing body. The teachers are dedicated and passionate and do more than what is expected of them. The school also has good discipline and an atmosphere of respect. These are all the factors that ensured that learners performed well. This is what all schools should inculcate,” explained de Freitas.

In his direct message to the learners, de Freitas said that they should not only take with them what they have learnt in the classroom but also the example of dedication and hard work that the teachers and staff at the school displayed throughout their school career.
