OVER the week of November 22 to December 1, Moffatview SAPS arrested 46 suspects for various crimes including assault common – five, assault GBH – one, business breaking – two, contempt of court – one, dealing in liquor without a licence – one, fraud – five, housebreaking and theft – one, malicious damage to property – three, pointing of firearm – one, possession of copper cable – two, possession of drugs – 10, reckless and negligent driving – two, possession of suspected stolen property – two, shoplifting – five, use of motor vehicle without owner’s consent – one and theft – four.

Suspect arrested for housebreaking and theft

On Tuesday, November 29, there was a housebreaking and theft along Hoek Street, Linmeyer. The neighbour was in his house when he heard the dog barking outside. He then went to check and saw three unknown men at the gate of the neighbouring house loading a TV into a dark blue Mercedes-Benz. The car soon drove off. The neighbour called the patrollers who arrived and managed to stop another car also involved in the housebreaking – a red VW Golf. The patrollers arrested one of the suspects.
