Water leak headache for 70-year-old

Tired from taking bucket after bucket filled with water outside, the elderly woman begged Courier reporters not to leave.

A 70-year-old woman has reached the end of her tether with a leaking roof in her flat in Carrick Place, Crown Gardens.

Courier reporters, Lucky Thusi and James Mahlokwane visited the site this morning to investigate to find that the water is pouring through the ceiling leaving everything, even her bedding, wet. The elderly is drenched and tired from taking bucket after bucket outside just to return and do it all over again. She has been swopping a bucket and pot, trying to catch the water but to no avail.

The COURIER notified the ward councillor Sergio dos Santos who said the deputy director of housing, Moabi has confirmed that contractors will be send out to fix the leak urgently.
