Much-needed support for Cotlands

Cotlands CEO, Jackie Schoeman welcomed the kind gesture from the paint company.

COTLANDS in Turffontein received a R150 000 donation from a PPG Group company, Prominent Paints on Wednesday, October 26.

Through its national #feelgood fund-raising campaign, it raised the funds under the theme #makingcommunitiesbetter. The paint company launched a special Cotlands promo pack in July which quickly sold out, proving South Africans have a heart and despite their own economic pressures, are still willing to participate in campaigns for a good cause.

Sold exclusively through its Select Store partners and paint centres throughout the country, for every promo Sheen White PVA 20L paint sold, Prominent Paints donated R30 to the early childhood development charity which serves vulnerable children up to the age of six.

Prominent Paints spokesperson for the campaign, Lani Carstens, expressed her gratitude to the contractors, builders, body corporates, schools and home DIY enthusiasts who got behind the campaign. “It truly is a worthwhile cause deserving of support. Cotlands’ focus is on addressing early childhood development and education gaps, a cause we feel strongly about. Education is a massive problem in South Africa and by partnering with Cotlands we believe we are investing in the future leaders of our country. For these reasons, when deciding on the beneficiary for this corporate giving campaign, Cotlands was an easy choice.”

Cotlands CEO Jackie Schoeman welcomed the kind gesture from the paint company. “In these times when funding is so scarce, we are happy to receive this donation from Prominent Paints. We heavily rely on the private sector to keep us abreast. We are also very happy that this is not a once-off donation; they will keep on supporting us in the near future,” she said.

Cotlands provides early learning playgroups, toy libraries, nutrition, health, psycho-social and residential child care to vulnerable children. They are able to give young children in under-resourced communities the opportunity to thrive into adulthood and they currently provide these services to more than 8 000 beneficiaries around the country.
