Seniors enjoy monthly breakfast

“Be extra careful while you are in your driveways, criminals wait and watch. Also be vigilant in parking lots. Once you have got back into your vehicle, don’t delay, rather leave straight away. If you are at a petrol station be aware while filling up and take notice of who is around you,” Barber said.

THE monthly seniors’ breakfast was held by Community Police Forum Mondeor SAPS on Tuesday, September 20 at Golden Falls Spur, Columbine Square, Suideroord.

Guest speakers were Martin Barber from SOS Security and Liezel van Rensburg from Penpharm. Barber spoke about criminals who target people leaving banks, shops and the airport, following them to their homes before they rob them. “Be extra careful while you are in your driveways. Criminals wait and watch. Also be vigilant in parking lots. Once you have got back into your vehicle, don’t delay, rather leave straight away. If you are at a petrol station be aware while filling up and take notice of who is around you,” Barber said.

Van Rensburg chatted about cramping problems and gave advice on what medications to take which can help, and Calvin Heggie (head of Health DisChem Mondeor) spoke on health issues which can plague seniors.

“Thank you to Spur Golden Falls who hosted the breakfast, the guest speakers, and Letitia Visser from Sasol Garage, corner Swartgoud and Columbine Avenue, Mondeor for the sweet treats for the seniors. Once again it’s been a very successful event and we are delighted to see so many of our senior citizens enjoying the morning,” added Michelle Pelser (Community Police Forum Mondeor SAPS).
