Drug dealer busted

A Nigerian man and a nanny looking after a nine-month-old toddler were arrested.

MOFFATVIEW SAPS arrested a Nigerian man who was reported to have been dealing in drugs in a yard in Mabel Street, Rosettenville, on Thursday, August 25.

After receiving a tip-off a SAPS Flying Squad team led by Cst Musa Maake and Serg Jaques du Plessis, engaged in a raid to confront the suspected dealer, guided by a description of him from the tip-off.

The suspect initially refused to take the officers to his room, saying he did not stay on that property. Finally he gave in and led the insistent officers to a back room where a female nanny was looking after a nine-month-old baby boy. Upon searching the premises, a large amount of dagga, 28 tablets of mandrax, 79 grams of cat and a large scale were found.

The man together with the nanny were arrested and taken to Moffatview SAPS.
