City Power aiding IEC

City Power worked with IEC to ensure power supply during elections.

CITY POWER worked together with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to ensure there were no power interruptions during the elections on Wednesday, August 3.

According to City Power’s spokesperson, Yumna Sheik, City Power regards its mandate to supply electricity to the residents of Johannesburg as an essential service.

To reassure the residents of Johannesburg, City Power put together a technical team at all the depots and put back-up generators, resources and contingency plans in place to ensure a reliable supply of electricity and quick response to restoration of power in the event of a power interruption.
