Freedom from Hunger Campaign a success

The main mandate of the campaign was to give back to the community by celebrating and embracing 67 minutes of given time and reaching out to those who are under privileged.

TOUCH of Care in conjunction with Standard Bank and Meals on Wheels provided food to Touch of Care beneficiaries at the Booysens Informal Settlement on Wednesday, July 13.

Touch of Care is an organisation which renders its services to over 600 families in three wards, 55, 56 and 124, covering the area of Turffontein, Forest Hill, Bellavista, Kenilworth, Booysens Informal Settlement and Rosettenville. All these households have orphans and vulnerable children, abused women, single parents, people infected with and affected by HIV/Aids and people living in the streets.

The main mandate of the effort, called the Freedom from Hunger Campaign, was to give back to the community by celebrating and embracing 67 minutes of given time and reaching out to those who are underprivileged.

The beneficiaries were served with fully cooked meals which were sponsored by Meals on Wheels and Standard bank. It catered for more than 600 families, including some of the beneficiaries in the Turffontein area. There was more than enough food for everyone and everyone was grateful for the campaign.
