Prestigious global award for Masilela

Masilela who has been working for McDonald’s SA for 19 years, was awarded her prize on April 13 at the Ray Kroc Awards Gala in Orlando, Florida.

CYNTHIA Masilela, restaurant manager at McDonald’s Columbine, has won a Ray Kroc Award, an accolade that recognises the top performing McDonald’s restaurant managers globally.

She was one of 340 McDonald’s restaurant managers around the world (representing the top one per cent of restaurant managers) to receive the honour, which includes a cash prize and a trophy.

Masilela who has been working for McDonald’s SA for 19 years, was awarded her prize on April 13 at the Ray Kroc Awards Gala in Orlando, Florida hosted by Steve Easterbrook, president and chief executive officer, and David Fairhurst, executive vice president and chief people officer of McDonald’s.

Masilela said, “This award means a great deal to me. I am so pleased that my hard work has been recognised. As a result, my confidence has also been boosted and I am motivated to do more for this great organisation.”

Greg Solomon, CEO of McDonald’s SA said, “Masilela was nominated for her commitment to people. She gives the best service to both our customers and other employees. Staff working with her have told us that she is a motivator and that she takes pride in her work ensuring that she provides quality service to everyone at all times. We’re delighted that we are able to recognise Masilela in this way for her commitment to McDonald’s.”
