Guild to celebrate 40 years
The south has produced many highly decorated cake artists.
THE South African Cake Decorators Guild will be celebrating its 40th birthday this year.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary the guild in conjunction with the Good Food and Wine Show will be hosting a cake decorating competition from July 29 to 31.
The Wits South branch of the guild was one of the first to open to people who shared the love of sugar craft. Since then it has been a place where, once a month, people of all ages and gender could meet to share and teach the craft.
The south has produced many highly decorated cake artists. Meetings with demonstrations and workshops are conducted monthly on the third Saturday of every month at the NG Kerk, corner Shannon Street and Tilrae Drive, Crown Gardens.
The guild is a non-profit organisation and welcomes all aspiring ‘Cake Bosses’ to join them.
