Possible water interruptions in the South

Johannesburg Water released a statement to warn residents of a possible water interruption, following a transformer failure in Eikenhof.

JOHANNESBURG Water (JW), the city’s water and sanitation service provider, would like to inform residents of a possible water interruption that may affect the South.

The agency informed the people of the South’s COURIER, on Wednesday, March 23, that one of the transformers that provide electricity to the Eikenhof pump station failed and that the repairs will take a week.

In the event that the second transformer that is currently giving power to the pump station no longer works, the following areas will be without water: Lanseria, Mondeor, Southgate, Meredale, Alan Manor and Eikenhof.

The list of hospitals that may be affected includes none of the hospitals in the South of Johannesburg, but JW urges residents to use power and water sparingly in order to lessen the pressure on the system during this time.
