A WOMAN was robbed in broad daylight after a man walked straight towards her and pointed a firearm at her, requesting that she follow him into the bushes, where two other men were waiting to rob her.

The woman was in Ormonde, Rifle Range Road, near the M1, when the one suspect approached and asked her where she was going. She told the police that she did not respond and suddenly the suspect took out a firearm and threatened her life. When she was in the bushes, the suspects took her handbag and requested her bank card and PIN number. Fortunately, a police helicopter was flying in the area and the suspects noticed it and fled the scene. The victim ran towards the road where she was spotted by traffic police officers who helped her.

A description of the suspects was given and the Gauteng Traffic Police, who called for assistance, traced the suspects to the bushes on the other side of the highway and arrested two of the suspects, aged 32 and 26, for armed robbery.

The management of Booysens SAPS wishes to thank everyone who assisted in this arrest.
