Lusito School’s golf day

Lusito thanks all the golfers for making this day a success

A GOLF day to raise funds for Lusito School was held recently at Reading Golf Club, Alberton.

On 2 March, more than 100 golfers joined the annual golf day for a midday shotgun tee-off, playing a competition format of a betterball stableford.

The golfers each received a shirt sponsored by Lushaka Investment and Conde Plumbing and a cap at registration. The halfway house was sponsored by Belem Bakery and the golfers enjoyed chicken and beef pregos. ABI also provided golfers with light refreshments on the 14th tee.

Winners for the day were Mario Alvares and Antonio da Silva, first with 48 points; Willem Matthysen and Brando Pieters, second with 45 points; and third, Bino Silva and Robbie Burns with 44 points.

Nearest to the pin, Gregory Rodrigues 5th hole, Tino Rodrigues 7th hole, Ricardo Chaves 11th hole, and Oupa Lillie 15th hole. Longest drive, Travis Pole 8th hole and Raymond Nel 18th hole. Longest day, Philipe de Oliveira and Ryan King, 23 points. Golfers enjoyed a prize-giving dinner with emcee Carlos Silva.
