All aboard with water donations

ABBOTTS College Johannesburg South learners and staff are supporting the Jacaranda 94.2 News water initiative, collecting water to be transported to drought stricken communities in the North West.

“Johannesburg South is proud to have been a part of this initiative,” said school principal Willem van Zyl. Grade 11s collected close to 400 litres of water with another 300 five litre containers donated by Grade 11 learner Fathima Hajee, with help from learners in her class.

According to Dawn Clark (home room teacher): “Mr Van Zyl inspired the children to bring water to the school to donate to those who don’t have any. His encouragement has certainly paid off.”
