It’s a small world

Breakfast at Piatto in New Redruth Village, Alberton, was enjoyed by the Women of Worth (WOW) members for their first meeting of 2016.

ALBERTON –  The members held an informal meeting chatting about lifetime friendships. One of the members, Glynis MacPherson, had her friend Linda Best staying with her from Port Elizabeth. Glynis and Linda have been friends for over 38 years and still keep in touch regularly. Glynis was also school friends with another member’s, Sharon Wright, sister when they were all at school in PE. Sharon moved to Gauteng last year and through her sister, met Glynis and they have become firm friends.

Two other members, Hilda Theck and Sandy Randall, have been friends for 53 years, having met in their high school days at Barnato Park High School, in Berea.

Another member, Patricia Pheiffer’s son, Craig, married member Susan Simpson’s daughter René.

“It’s a very small world when a group of women get together and realise they know some of the other members from years back!” said Hilda Theck, coordinator of the group.

The morning was enjoyed by all with lots of memories and laughs to share.
