Sasria donates 34 beds to children’s home

The home relies entirely on donations.

SASRIA SOC Limited donated 34 beds with mattresses to the Amazing Grace Children’s Home in Eikenhof on Friday, December 4.

All thanks to a Sasria staff member, Precious Egwumba, who received funding from the company to give to a charity of her choice, after winning a staff challenge during Heritage Day activities. The children’s home was founded by Grace Mashaba in 1989 and houses about 150 children on a daily basis. Needs cared for include access to education, healthcare, safe living conditions and a healthy diet. The home relies entirely on donations.

“We are pleased as a company to lend a helping hand to community projects that make a difference and have a positive impact in the lives of all South Africans. We further encourage our staff members to get involved in the communities they live in, and as a company we endeavor to support their involvement,” said Thokozile Ntshiqa, executive manager and stakeholder management at Sasria.

This donation forms part of Sasria’s corporate social investment (CSI) which focuses on education, humanitarian, staff initiative, skills and economic development. Through the staff initiative programme Sasria encourages their employees to get involved in community projects and approach the company for project funding.
