e.tv extends HD offering to include DStv customers

The eHD Channel, which was exclusively available on OpenView HD (Channel 104), will now also be enjoyed by DStv customers (Channel 194).

FROM Friday, 27 November e.tv will be the first free to air channel available in High Definition (HD) across all DStv packages.

The eHD Channel, which was exclusively available on OpenView HD (Channel 104), will now also be enjoyed by DStv customers (Channel 194).
DStv customers who have HD decoders will be able to view the channel’s cutting edge shows such as Scandal!, Rhythm City, Gold Diggers and Umlilo amongst others in a superior broadcast quality.

“We are always looking for more ingenious ways to enrich our audience’s viewing experience.  All of our distinctive blend of authentic, compelling local shows are filmed in HD. We are certain that this new development will give the channel a new edge and add value to our broad audience base across all platforms,” says e.tv channels Managing Director, Monde Twala.

Viewers’ favorite shows such as Z’bondiwe, Umlilo and Ashes to Ashes will return for second seasons early next year on South Africa’s entertainment destination of choice. Fresh local shows such as travel show, Double Up, action thriller Heist and the homegrown super hero series, Jongo are some of the offerings eHD viewers can look forward to in the new year.

More great news for DStv customers who have access to the DStv Catch Up, is that top e.tv shows such as Rhythm City and Scandal! will now be available on this service from Tuesday December 1.
