COTLANDS’ ‘Donate your birthday’ campaign won silver at the Assegai Awards 2015, the highest award in the non-profit category, on Thursday, November 12.

“Scooping up silver for best Non-Profit Direct Marketing Campaign is a huge accomplishment for our organisation. Having to downscale our marketing resources has put tremendous pressure on our fund-raising efforts so we are grateful for the generosity of Lesoba Difference who took on this project pro-bono and executed it with the same passion and commitment as they do with all their paid for projects,” said Cotlands CEO, Jackie Schoeman.

Lesoba Difference designed and implemented the campaign.

“The Cotlands ‘Donate your birthday’ campaign was designed to generate awareness and raise funds for our early childhood development programmes. Through social media and a specially-developed portal, Cotlands supporters were able to pledge their birthdays and make a difference in the lives of young children. The campaign helped our donors connect with our programmes and we are thankful to every birthday donor who pledged their special day in support of early childhood development,” added Schoeman.

Michelle Perrow, Lesoba Difference’s strategic director, said: “We are proud to have partnered with Cotlands on this campaign. Early childhood development for vulnerable children is a cause we feel particularly passionate about as these young minds are our future designers, developers and creative directors.”
