Jewellery with a cause

Young, talented designers receive training both locally and internationally by renowned masters in the field.

SKYLER T, a jewellery store, was launched at the De Beers head office building in Ormonde, on Thursday, October 8. This is a Be Beers Zimele initiative.

Founder of Skyler T, Saloshnie Naidoo, said they want to be the first black women owned brand which creates a platform where young designers can showcase their products in an elaborate jewellery store.

“After 11 months of very hard work by all involved, a jewellery brand and concept that has evolved and finally taken shape has now arrived. The Skyler T brand is reflective of both personnel and entrepreneurial perspective.

“Some critics call this a dying industry. However, amidst these threats, working closely with De Beers Zimele and Tsepo Monaledi, we grew more confident as we discussed many ways in which we can provide the right type of support and business leadership towards young and emerging jewellery designers,” explained Saloshnie.
