One killed, two injured in Fochville collision

ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the mangled bakkie lying in the middle of the road while the wrecked light motor vehicle sat on the side of the road.

A MAN was killed and two others injured last night (Sunday October 18) after a head-on collision between a bakkie and light motor vehicle on the N12, eight kilometres outside of Fochville.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the mangled bakkie lying in the middle of the road while the wrecked light motor vehicle sat on the side of the road.

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson said, “On assessment, paramedics found the lifeless bodies of a man and woman lying trapped inside the bakkie. Unfortunately the man had already succumbed to his multiple, fatal injuries. Nothing more could be done for the patient.

“Rescue services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the trapped woman from the bakkie. Once freed, paramedics treated the critically injured woman as well as the male patient from the light motor vehicle. Once treated, they were transported to Carletonville hospital for further treatment.”

Rescue services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to later free the deceased body from the bakkie.
