SOUTH African Football Association (Safa) has announced that Bafana Bafana will face Angola in the first leg of the first round of the 2016 African Nations Cup (CHAN) Rwanda at Rand Stadium in Rosettenville.
The match takes place on Saturday, October 17, and kickoff is at 15:00. Tickets are available for R40 at Computicket.
The return leg is set for Saturday, October 24, at the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda with a 16:00 SA kickoff time.
Bafana Bafana is currently in Central America for two friendly internationals. In the first match on Friday, October 9, they defeated Costa Rica 1-0 and will battle Honduras next.
The Bafana Bafana squad to face Angola in the CHAN qualifier at the Rand Stadium Saturday has been named.
“Despite all the challenges we are normally faced with having a team for the CHAN tournament, as it does not fall within the FIFA dates, I am confident this team will compete and compete hard,” said coach Shakes Mashaba.
The CHAN team will in the meantime be in the hands of assistant coach Thabo Senong assisted by Helman Mkhalele but Mashaba and Owen da Gama are expected back in South Africa on October 15 to prepare for this first leg clash.
