Scholar patrollers honoured

Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) Superintendent Wayne Minnaar congratulated all the scholar patrollers.

THREE hundred primary school scholar patrollers from around Johannesburg were honoured with certificates and medals on Wednesday, September 23, at Wembley Indoor Stadium.

The children were honoured because of their selfless efforts to help their fellow learners and motorists during peak hour traffic in the morning and afternoons, outside their respective primary schools.

Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) Superintendent Wayne Minnaar congratulated all the scholar patrollers.

“They stand outside the schools through rain, cold winter and hot sun, assisting learners and the smooth flow of traffic. We want to show appreciation for what they have done,” he said.

Minnaar also thanked the support from JMPD, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Community Safety, Transportation, Joburg Water (JW), OYA Sweets, Syntell and 3M.
