Bicycle thief arrested

Officers recovered the young man's bicycle after finding him crying in the street.

MOFFATVIEW – Sector One patrollers stopped when they saw a young man crying on the side of the road. They soon discovered that his bicycle had been stolen in Regents Park.

The young man was robbed around 15:00 on Wednesday, September 2. As he was speaking to the CPF patrollers, Moffatview’s Warrant Officer Chunku Biyela, Sergeant Lebua Mokhele and Constable Victor Mukwevho arrived. After giving the SAPS officers a description of the suspect, the victim was able to point him out in Eleazer Street, Regents Park. The suspect was arrested and the bicycle was returned to the young man.

“CPF patrollers are encouraging other community members to work together with the police. Together we can make it,” said Constable Rebecca Bila, the Moffatview SAPS communications officer.
