Sanco honours Nelson Mandela

“La Rochelle Primary School is still developing, growing and receiving positive assistance from the community. It really motivates the entire staff.”

FOR Mandela Day members of the South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) from ward 57 joined hands with alliances and the broader community to clean the La Rochelle Primary School.

The volunteers did their bit on Saturday, July 18, to honour Nelson Mandela by working together to help clean the school which re-opened for education in 2014.

“We are honoured to be able to do our bit for the late Nelson Mandela. Mandela contributed more than just freedom to South Africa and Africa as a whole because he understood that education is the key to possibilities. That is why we decided to come to the school to help and educate more people about the importance of Mandela Day,” said Sanco ward 57 zonal secretary Tshediso Makhele.

La Rochelle Primary School is still developing, growing and receiving positive assistance from the community. It really motivates the entire staff to continue doing what they do.”
