SAPS investigate death of man and two minors

Man and two minors found dead in two separate incidents

A missing persons report, made last week at Mondeor Police Station, left a mother reeling following the gruesome discovery of the bodies of her son, grandchild and another family member.

A 42-year-old man, his 11-year-old son and his two-year-old nephew were all found dead in separate locations in Johannesburg.

The man was found by Mondeor SAPS at his home in Naturena after his mother opened a missing persons report for all three victims, on Thursday, July 9. The two children were discovered in an abandoned vehicle in Germiston.

The national police communications officer, Lieutenant Colonel Katlego Mogale, said: “A 29-year-old man has been arrested after a 42-year old-man, his son and his nephew, were found dead in Mondeor as well Germiston respectively. It is alleged that the deceased’s mother opened a missing person’s case at Mondeor on Thursday, after she hadn’t heard from him since Monday July 6. Whilst she was at the station, Germiston police called asking for assistance regarding an abandoned white BMW whose owner resides in the Mondeor area.”

The suspect was charged with one count of murder for the 42-year-old and appeared in court on July 13.

Further investigations are underway to determine the cause of death of the two children and locating the suspect.
