Young boy strives to make a difference

Parents cannot travel anywhere with him if they do not have money and stuff to give the homeless on the roads.

MILLIONS of adults around the world have never come across a young boy who thinks and dreams like the eight-year-old Bokang Mosia, from Mondeor, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in October 2013.

The boy is an inspiration to the world and those fortunate to know him. His ambitions and love for homeless children in the South of Johannesburg is truly inspiring.

Bokang started the Bokang Mosia Blanket Project after seeing children sleeping on the streets, inside paper boxes covered by plastic bags which people threw away as trash.

This boy is a happy individual and his inability to resist the urge to give wherever he can has inspired a partnership with Southgate Mall. Many retailers met with him, his father, Thembinkosi, and his mother, Zandi. During the meeting, they discussed how they can make the project bigger so more needy children can benefit from it.

Southgate Mall has already placed collection boxes inside the mall for people to donate blankets and perishables, which will be given to charity homes Monday Day, July 18.

“The boy is just amazing. He is a smart and happy boy who loves to play and give. You cannot drive anywhere with him and pass homeless people or children without giving them anything. He has been like that since he was a small boy,” said Bokang’s proud father.
