Four-year-old drowns in swimming pool

Unfortunately the child’s vital signs did not return and he was declared dead on the scene.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – A four-year-old boy from Kenilworth drowned in a pool on Saturday, May 9.

According to ER24, family members took the boy out of the pool and when ER24 paramedics and provincial EMS arrived on scene they immediately started with CPR and advanced life support treatment. Unfortunately the child’s vital signs did not return and he was declared dead on the scene.

“I can confirm that this office is currently investigating an inquest docket that was opened on Saturday, involving the drowning. Information is still being obtained surrounding the circumstances of the death,” said Warrant Officer Lorraine van Emmerik, Booysens SAPS communications officer.
