One killed, three injured in accident
The driver and front passenger were thrown from the vehicle and the two back passengers were lying lying next to the vehicle.
ONE man was killed and three others injured, on Wednesday morning, May 13, after a vehicle rolled on the R82 near the Grasmere turn-off in Eikenhof.
Paramedics from the ER24 Johannesburg South branch arrived on scene to find a vehicle upright, in the veld on the side of the road. The driver and front passenger were thrown from the vehicle and the two back passengers were lying lying next to the vehicle. The male who was thrown from the vehicle showed no signs of life while the female’s condition was established as critical.
Paramedics began resuscitation and provided advanced life support interventions in a 30 minute operation.
Unfortunately there was still no sign of life and the man was declared dead. The critically injured woman was treated and transported to Lesedi Hospital for urgent medical treatment. The remaining two passengers were treated for their injuries and transported to Baragwanath Hospital for further observations.
The cause of the accident is not known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
