Spiritual centre continues to give

A spiritual centre in Winchester Hills has wasted no time in getting back to their giving ways to the community

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – The new spiritual centre in Winchester Hills has wasted no time in getting back to their giving ways to the community through blanket distributions and other initiatives.

Community outreach efforts by members of the centre include a winter-warm blanket distribution and food distribution project.

The relocation of the Sri Adi Shankara Ashrama from ”AUM” farm to its new spiritual base in Winchester Hills, the legacy of its Founder and First President H.H. Sri Swami Shankarananda Saraswathi, still continues with enthusiasm.

Dedicated devotee of the Ashrama, Sri Natvarlal Desai of Edenvale said, “The Ashrama’s Management Board has taken a firm decision that the re-location was only in the interest of public safety and that none of its socio-humanitarian work would suffer in any way.”

The food-distribution programme in the form of perishable items to deserving orphanages in the community, homes for the mentally challenged and homes for senior citizens and many other NGO’s, will form an integral part of the Ashrama’s attempt to alleviate suffering and poverty in the country. We therefore urge the community to feel free to participate in the same manner as they have done for the past 31 years of the Ashrama’s existence by donating in cash or kind,” said representatives.

Plans on distributing blankets, groceries and vegetables to the Missionaries of Charity (Sisters of Mother Theresa) in Soshanguve as part of their Winterwarm blanket distribution were underway for May 10.
