Tolerance, love taught at Montanus

'The Bill of Rights is worth nothing on paper if we do not practice it in the land.' - Mr Khan

SOUTH Hills’ Laerskool Montanus Primary, once again, spreads love and teaches learners the meaning of ubuntu from an early age, enabling them to become better citizens of tomorrow.

The school recently held an event to discourage and condemn hate among people, especially in the form of xenophobia, following the controversial attacks on fellow Africans.

Learners of Montanus are no strangers to lending a helping hand in charity work. It is a principle the staff and parents love about the school led by Principal Mr Khan.

“We at Laerskool Montanus Primary bow our heads in shame as we reflect on the unfortunate incidence of unreasonable fear or hatred towards fellow human beings of African descent.

“The Bill of Rights is worth nothing on paper if we do not practice it in the land. The learners, parents, staff and SGB of Montanus oppose any form of oppression against any human being, especially in the form of xenophobia. We rely on our parents and teachers to inculcate a true sense of ubuntu among our learners as we constantly strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others,” said School Principal, Mr Khan, launching an anti-xenophobia campaign.
