Children rescued from burning house

A house fire almost resulted in the death of two children in Rosettenville

THE burnt house is till vacant following a fire that left a family without their home and their property damaged on Prairie Street in Rosettenville.

A badly damaged baby crib can be found on the front porch of the home together with other furniture that were destroyed in the fire. The windows are broken, the walls are charcoal black and the gates are locked.

A Linmeyer resident contacted the CHRONICLE on April 23 at the scene of the fire. He revealed: “Neighbours heard a loud bang and then the whole front of the house was burning. Two children are in ICU for treatment for burns and smoke inhalation and the dog was taken to the SPCA.”

The family are foreign nationals who are suspected to have been renting the residence. The community expressed concern over the well-being of the family members in hospital.
