The prize consisted of four small gold bars valued at R50 000 each, which were specially minted for the occasion.

RANDOLPH Vanzeeberg of Forest Hill walked away with gold worth R200 000, courtesy of Three Ships Whisky.

Owner of Cum Laude Productions, Randolph was ecstatic when notified. A bottle of Three Ships Bourbon Cask Finish, one of his favourite whiskies, secured him the winning entry. The prize consisted of four small gold bars valued at R50 000 each, which were specially minted for the occasion.

Randolph decided to convert the bars for cash with which to buy his wife, Cindy, a new car. The national competition was held towards the end of 2014, while the official handing over of the gold bars took place in April 2015.
