Taxi crashes into home

The taxi driver was seen picking up broken pieces of his vehicle.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – A taxi lost control and smashed onto the wall of a West Turffontein home on Thursday April 9, just after 7:00, after the driver allegedly lost control of the speeding vehicle.

Witness David Jones stopped on the side of the road after seeing the shocking state of the front of the taxi after the crash.

“I saw the driver picking up the windscreen and pieces of the broken car, putting them back into the taxi. Fortunately he was the only person in the taxi, nobody was hurt,” David Jones said.

A yard at the corner of Busschauwe and Bellavista roads had a brick and palisade fence. A large piece of the palisade fence was broken from the bricks and landed on the roof of the house.

According to the witness, nobody from the home was hurt and metro police arrived on the scene to investigate and take a statement.
