Mulbarton car thieves attended CPF meetings

Biggest mistake by the community and sector CPF would be to underestimate the lengths these criminals will go to

JOHANNESBURG – Provincial police spokesperson Theko Pharasi warned on March 29 that criminals have demonstrated in their methods that their aim is to show SAPS and anyone else watching exactly how focused they are in pulling off their missions.

In the South, new information revealed to Mondeor SAPS the two vehicle thieves arrested at Mulbarton Hospital on March 20 has been a serious cause for concern.

An unknown source revealed to SAPS that the suspects arrested had been seen at a Sector CPF meeting masquerading as community members concerned about bringing an end to crime.

The two suspects, aged 32 and 36, were discovered to be residents of Naturena and Kibler Park. They were caught by Mulbarton Hospital’s vigilant security, Servest, after they were seen fiddling with a vehicle.

The suspects have appeared in court on charges of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle and housebreaking implements in Mulbarton Hospital.

“Servest Security called Sector Manager of Sector One, Sergeant Andrew. Upon following up on the information, it was found that the motor vehicle was stolen in Port Elizabeth on March 17. The suspects were driving a white Audi,” said Mondeor SAPS Communications Officer Constable Mnguni.

The CHRONICLE was later informed by Constable Mnguni that the names of the suspects were not found on the attendance register of Sector Three CPF.

Although the reasons are undetermined, it has been speculated that they either didn’t sign the register or signed it under false names.

Residents and Sector CPF are urged to tighten their verification methods at their meetings with their respective communities in order to scout out the criminals from decent members of society. As seen from the tragic incidents where police officers were shot and killed on the N3, these criminals will stop at nothing to accomplish their missions.

Mondeor SAPS commended Servest Security for their alertness.
